MCWS finals start today ⤵️
It's Game Day. The No. 1 national seed Tennessee Volunteers face off against No. 3 Texas A&M in the 2024 Men's College World Series finals tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET in Game 1. Both teams went undefeated through the MCWS bracket, with Tennessee becoming the first No. 1 national seed to advance to the finals since 2009.
Both programs are in uncharted territory as the Vols are making their first finals appearance since 1951. The Aggies are making their first ever. Regardless of the outcome, one team will bring home its program's first MCWS trophy.
For Tennessee, it has finally reached the finals in its third MCWS berth since 2021, and the Volunteers will look to cap off their dominant season by becoming the first No. 1 national seed to win the national championship since 1999.
Over in College Station, Texas A&M has already accomplished more than any Aggies team before them, but the 12th man has shown fight this postseason, reaching the finals despite losing one of college baseball's greatest stars, Braden Montgomery, in the Super Regionals. The Aggies have proven resilient, and they will certainly challenge the Vols for the trophy.
This is the third time in four years the MCWS finals has featured an SEC matchup, and the streak of four-straight SEC MCWS champions will continue.

The clinching moments
Tennessee 7,Florida State 2
Tennessee defeated Florida State 7-2 to advance to the championship series of the 2024 Men's College World Series. It's the second time the Volunteers have made the finals in program history — and the first time since 1951.
The Volunteers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Tennessee boosted the lead up to 6-0 by the seventh inning stretch before Florida State got on the board late. Tennessee's pitching staff allowed only seven hits in the game.
No program has more wins over the last four seasons than Tennessee, and now the Volunteers will have a chance to add a title to support those successful seasons.
Texas A&M defeated Florida 6-0 to win advance to the 2024 Men's College World Series finals.
The Aggies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, forcing an early Florida pitching change. Meanwhile, excellent pitching from Justin Lamkin for the first five innings kicked off a shutout effort. Lamkin had nine of Texas A&M's 14 strikeouts in the win.
